Spyware is a very strong threat to anyone who uses the internet. It is malicious. It takes away your privacy. Yes it watches where you go on the web and other personal information too. That is the why the word spy is used. Spyware is spying. It is not easy to recognize or to get rid of once it is found. Some computers are never the same after they get spyware. I heard of lots of stories where people lost all kinds of important things on the computers.
Prevention does help by having an Anti- Spyware program on your computer. However there are new threats constantly so keep your software up to date.
Some software programs for Anti Spyware can be confusing to use. I noted in a previous blog how some do not work with your computer or other software so I will not go over that again right now. I would like to make sure people do not think they are alone with dealing with Spyware.
I have banged my head up against a wall thinking what did I or didn’t I do this time when I see spyware pop up with a search my spyware performs. It is just going to happen. Knowing your Anti- Spyware program is updated and working helps. I do get excited when I see spyware caught and destroyed. Pushing the key to say yes delete feels powerful. But I will not forget how hitting my keys did nothing to help as weeks went by trying to fix the computer after spyware invaded. Of course prior to me knowing to protect and update.
Do you have a horror story you want to share? A warning you can give to others? Or a story that reminds us despite the people who create these malicious programs there are many people who are kind and willing to help too.
The word “Kind” is not used enough anymore. I think I will start using it more.

Anti Virus, Anti Spyware and Shareware remover all required for a PC and Mac
When I first starting using the computer I did not mind Shareware. If it was offered to me and I had a choice to use it I figured that was good. Share ware was free. Some shareware claimed to help with spam and or virus problems. BUT over the years (and a lot of problems) I have found not all shareware is offered it is just placed on your computer often attached to a program you do want. I don't like being tricked. Do you? I don't like that deleting them is not easy. How about you? Just like spam and virus' they can cause problems with your computer and use up your precious time trying to fix it. Do you want to waste time fixing shareware problems? Then it removes parts of files you want, or never deletes all files. Oh so many issues for a word that sounds good SHARE. Do you want to learn the hard way about shareware, virus or spam too? Waste your time? I didn't think so. SO what are you waiting for? Click on the links in this blog and get some protection from Anti-Virus and Anti-Spam and Shareware remover software. I'll share my resources and make sure the word share is used correctly again.

Pop up blocker helps
Recently I have come to appreciate my pop up blocker. I have a choice to just block or to let me know and I decide also if I hear a sound or not. I decide to hear and see the pop blocks. Wow there was so much. So many pop ups and so much time wasted by me telling the computer what to do with them. I decided to tell the computer where it put them once and for all. I love when the computer does my dirty work. Now if I can get my TV to get rid of commercials I would be using it more. Shh my computer did not hear/read that.

Anti Virus and Anti Spyware in Magazine
I was reading PC magazine recently and once again I am very impressed with the information they provide and how they provide it. I was looking into printers but through out the magazine you can see all the different anti virus anti spyware out there. From what I read and you can read it for yourself (?Feb or March 08 edition) Norton was up at the top for the month (things change) but not for perfection. Other smaller less none companies are doing well too. We tend to just buy the big well known name brand but you should buy for your computer needs. All anti virus and anti spyware software programs need to be updated frequently. They can not protect you from everything. People who make trojans, spyware, virus etc must not sleep given how fast they update their programs. Companies with good support are important.
Some Anti Virus and Anti spyware may cause conflicts with other software on your computer or may not go with the version or windows you have so make sure you check out those issues.

Anti Virus, Anti Spyware
How To Prevent Virus Attack On Your ComputerBy James Wallis
The threat of viruses cannot be underestimated by anyindividual or business. They can strike anywhere, anytime whenyou are least expecting them and throw a spanner in your works.
What are Computer Viruses?
Computer viruses are actually small software programmes writtenwith malicious intent. They are tailor-made to spreadautomatically from one computer to another through a variety ofmeans. Once they reach a computer, they immediately create manyversions of themselves and infect a lot of files.
Viruses are written by people who are either software engineersor know programming languages. Often, these are young teenagersstill studying computer science in colleges who are just doingit for fun or trying to impress their friends with theirintellect and competence.
How do Viruses Spread?
Not very long ago, floppy disk was the only way we couldtransfer data files from one computer to another. Therefore, this was the only media available to viruses for travelling incyber-space. Now, digital media used for transferring files hasmultiplied. Apart from floppy disks – which are now almostobsolete – there are optical disks (including compact disks anddigital video disks) as well as USB Flash drives used fortransferring data. Apart from these, emails are the maincarriers of digital files today over long distances.
In the modern world, the Internet has been a great boon. It isan international network made up of old-fashioned copper wires,fibre-optic cables as well as micro-wave and satellite linksthat connects almost all computers of the world. We can use itto browse millions of Websites, download useful information aswell as send emails and pictures to friends, relatives andbusiness contacts far and wide.
Internet has also emerged as the ideal vehicle that viruses useto spread themselves worldwide in a matter of days. Indeed, today most viruses are introduced to your computer through theInternet. Emails are the main culprit. What happens is that avirus residing in your computer automatically accesses youremail address book, attaches itself to emails and starts sendingthem to everyone in your email database without your getting toknow about it.
When the recipients see your email, they click on it and theircomputer becomes infected with the virus too. The latter thenplays out the same game with the new computer and sends itselfto every address in its email list. This is like a chainreaction whose shock-wave encompasses millions of computers.
Apart from email, viruses can enter your computer when youbrowse websites. The latter may have some hidden viruses andother troublesome software such as spyware. When you click on alink, a virus may get activated and download itself onto yourcomputer hard disk.
Trojans are a version of computer viruses. Like the proverbialTrojan horse, these hide themselves inside harmless-lookingfiles such as digital pictures, greeting cards, video clips andaudio files. When you download any of these onto your computer, the hidden virus comes alive and starts infecting your harddisk.
Viruses can damage your computer in different ways. Some ofthese are just nuisance-creators, like, for example, a virusforcing you to press a particular keyboard button every fiveminutes if you want to continue working. But many are deadly intheir effect and try to wipe your hard disk clean of all data.
Anti-Virus Vaccine
Every year, viruses are responsible for massive damage in termsof lost data and the money spent by individuals and businessesin trying to recover that data. Companies suffer immensefinancial setbacks if they are unable to recover their criticalfiles. That is why most countries in the world have laws thatmandate strict punishments for anyone found responsible forcreating computer viruses and injecting them into cyber-space.
In the last few decades, an entire new industry has cropped upthat specialises in anti-virus software products. Called virusvaccines, these are meant to be loaded onto your hard disk.Whenever you boot up your computer, this software gets activatedand keeps an eye on your files. It does not allow you todownload any file or open any website link before it has firstvetted it to see if it is not hiding a dangerous virus. Thismakes your computer quite safe.
Also, the anti-virus software periodically scans your entirehard drive to check for viruses. Newer viruses are gettingcreated every day. Therefore, the anti-virus software keepsdownloading newer virus definitions from its company website sothat your computer protection remains up to date.
